Women Development Association for Self Sustenance (WODASS) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious and non-political organization, founded in 1985, when 45 women as founding members with the aim of assisting to response to health issues among Women and Children. As the number of members increased, the name Dass Women Multipurpose Cooperative Union (DWMCU) was introduced; got registered with the Bauchi State Government in 1997 and started giving loans to women groups to address the economic hardship of their families In February 2007 we finally changed to our current name; Women Development Association for Self Sustenance (WODASS) and got registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). WODASS have implemented projects with so many Development partners to mention but a few Partners for Development (PFD), Global Fund, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Bauchi State) Agency for the Control of AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria ((BACATMA), Water AID, UNICEF, RTI-LEAD USAID, TSHIP USAID, Rural Financial Institution in Nigeria (RUFIN), CHAI, APIN, NEI+ among others. WODASS is Community Based Civil Society Organization that identifies issues challenging communities through interaction with the community, research findings, baseline survey and relevant literatures. These issues are often addressed through Dialogue Meetings with Stakeholders, Advocacy to Stakeholders, Participatory Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Campaigns, Sensitization/Trainings as well as Workshops and Seminars.
