The Maintenance of the environment wasn't that good, the staffs are well, let's just say, they are just there. But the view from up the tower is lovely. You can see the old Ibadan town from up there. Enjoy :)

It is a beautiful place, though abandoned but it still serves the purpose. You will have to pay #200 to enter the tower. And it is also a cool spot for hang out. Check out my YouTube channel @nongov media to see my travel videos of Great locations

For a tourist attraction site, it's very boring, unkempt and no tour guide, just someone that collects a fee (200 naira) for you to climb the tower. You have to bring your own refreshments. It could be better if it was well maintained because the view from the tower is beautiful

Popularly called Oke Layipo by the locals, Bowers tower was built in 1836 in honour of Captain Robert Lister and is located on Oke Are the highest of the 7 hills that makes up Ibadan. The tower has two openings with spiral stairs leading to the top, from where you get to see the aerial view of the ancient city and you can spot prominent places. It has well tended lawns and few chalets where you can have sit to chat or have a picnic. You don't need to book ahead before visiting the care takers are mostly on ground all day of the week.

For anyone that's interested in viewing entirely more than half of Ibadan, bowers tower is the best place for you to view. It's a good tourist location in Ibadan. It might be a little boring but the views are amazing.

It is a place to be, full of history and culture. You can see so far into Ibadan but be cautious if you're claustrophobic because the stairs to get up are quite narrow and enclosed. Go there with your family, friend or loved one... You can also have a picnic there.
