WHOA! Very educative and beautiful. The director/caretaker is doing a fantastic job. Learning about Nigeria's history especially how Hanns Vischer brought education to Northern Nigeria was a very amazing behavior.

I was quite impressed by the architecture and the historical significance it holds for Kano. This is major tourist attraction in Kano because the role and its history in development of Western education in the North. The name literally means 'Son of Hausa' the name given to Mr Hanns Fischer a Swiss tutor he spoke and wrote Hausa language. In the Museum you will find artifacts and modern items. Its totally worth a visit

Well, I was surprised at the sight of delapidated crumbling building when I got to the site. ️ However, I got to realize I was at the site of the original Dan Hausa building which mainly serves as a cultural centre now rather than a museum. The Renovated Gidan Dan Hausa is just a few blocks away and doubles as a museum. Opens on weekdays. Closed on weekends & public holidays. ️
