Kaiser Foundation for Social Development (KFSD) was created as a corporate social responsibility initiative of the Kaiser Group to specifically address the problem of youth underdevelopment in Nigeria. KFSD is especially committed to increasing local content within the Nigerian construction industry, and empowering Nigerians through STEM education with particular focus on construction careers. We recognize that youth development is on a fast decline. Vocational training, skills acquisition programmes and apprenticeship is limited and there is a lack of entrepreneurial and leadership skills in the construction field. Nigeria also has a great need for technical on-the-job training. For these reasons, the Kaiser Group through KFSD is developing various programmes designed to contribute to the educational development of Nigerian youths and help them realize their ultimate potential. One of such programmes is the annual Construction STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Summer Camp targeted at students in secondary school. Participants of the Summer Camp are given further hands on training at live construction sites under the Mentorship Scheme. KFSD is currently working on other schemes targeted at undergraduates, graduates and artisans. Learn more about us at http://www.kaiserfoundationsd.org/who-we-are/
