The services by the Lagos State Waterways Authority to the public is commendable. I would be glad if the state government can provide more ferries to ply Falomo, Apapa ,Ebute - Ero and CMS because it's safe and fast to get to someones place of work. It will definitely have an impact on the traffic situation within the State.

Gosh I visited the place today, Actually it was a Local Guides Hangout and I was blown away by the ambience of the place. It doesn't look Nigerian at All (And I'm sure Fellow Nigerians will agree with me ), it looks like the kind of thing you see in Sci Fi movies (Just move into the waiting area and look at roof, you will understand), It's got wheel chair accessible entrance, elevator to take physically challenged people upstairs and wheel chair accessible exitst and ramps uptill the loading docks, I say kudos to those that constructed it with in mind. Now it houses the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) who are trying to bring some form of sanity to the use of Waterways in Lagos, A group of youthful and vibrant looking people, I hope things gets better with time All in All it is a great edifice (I don't want to say my fear is maintenance ,I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope the negative voice in my head is wrong this time)

It is fascinating to see the efforts Lagos State Government put in place at the place. Such are one out of thousands of developments a State need for proper functioning. From my experience, Lagos State Waterways Authority ( Five Cowrie Terminal) was established to regulate the inland waterways activities taking off from the Lagos Island side of Lagos and to improve sea trade which if well maintained will boost the State's economy. From the information given, they also see to the issuing of licenses to private boat owners, safety and oversee that no illegal activity takes place. The building is still quite new, looks like a promising venue for trending crowd in only it gets well taken care of and not allowed to go down the history of numerous institutions abandoned in the hands of unmonitored, incompetent staff. I hope this makes a difference. I took note of how prepared they seem for emergencies as there are SOS kits, fire extinguishers, exit routes and security officials on ground. I look forward to a greater Lagos indeed as the present Governor - Sanwo Olu echoes.
