Awhum waterfall is a breathtaking place. The trek took us downhill for about 40minutes then up the river bed for 15 more minutes before reaching the final point which was really a fantastic natural beauty . As a woman make sure you have a long scarf(to cover your shorts or trousers or a mid calf skirt as there are clothing restrictions. Also best to have a small backpack that will make it easier to climb rocks.

First of all , this is one of the most breathtaking place ever !!. That said , the hike to and fro the waterfall is close to 2hours so be sure to carry water . Had to change into a dress because trousers are not allowed into the cave /waterfall. Even though You have to give an advance notice to gain access and tour guide to the waterfall, you can always come on the day of your tour and still gain access. Entrance fee is free.

Mind blowing serenity. This is one of the most spectacular tourist destination and ranks amongst the top choice for most adventurous travelers... It's a must visit and the sight surely will hold any visitor spellbound...
The Awhum waterfall is about an hour to a 90 minutes drive from Enugu city depending on where you are. It is attached to a monastry. The water is believed to be scared. The whole tour return is 6.77 km and it took us 2 hours 27 minutes to complete with stops for photos and breaks. Its absolutely beautiful first you start on an open stretch , then path starts to go downhill till you get to the stream that flows out from the waterfall. At this point we took of our shoes. First you will get to the cave and then after that you can proceed to the main waterfalls. Walking the high walls through the water is an amazing experience. Its just a must see if you are in Enugu. Please note that as a lady if you are wearing trousers you will not be allowed into the Monastry
Awhum Waterfall Amaugwe village, Awhum town, Enugu, Nigeria. I was so excited to see you the natural water coming seriously out of nowhere, I was like God is the greatest indeed. Once people start praising God, the water will come with speed, then if you stop praising God, it will go down again. Wow wow. Catholic priest is taken care of the people and place very well.
Not your ideal recreational spot because of the long trekking distance.
