Aafin Oyo (Oyo Palace) is an ancient palace and one of the oldest palace in Africa. I heard about the ancient palace for the very first time @13 or there about. The Throne and the King commands a great respect, and that's because of its origin and value the kingdom adds to Yorùbá race. The ruling king, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Iku Baba Yeye is the 46th king of the throne and has reigned for more than five decades. When talking of culture and ancient throne, Alaafin can't be left out.

I don't like this place it looks primitive compare to palaces in Nigeria everywhere looks rough instead of glowing as a king palace.i think where too backward in the scheme of things especially in maintenance.
Aafin Oyo has been a wonderful place to be. The king and people around him are very accommodating
One of the oldest place in Yoruba land
Oyo town was a very peaceful town till date
The environment is good for tourism
It is an historical place for the Yoruba heritage which is well preserved. I love the part where we were asked to take off our shoes from the gate and walk bear footed. I saw the oldest Tortoise, it was a memorable experience.
Oyo, Segilola's royal home of our youth and memories; heritage, culture, arts and pageantry.
