It's really a memorable location; this market has a long cultural history. It plays host to sellers and buyers (every 4days, that's the Eke market day) from the town and neighboring villages, towns and even states; especially Imo and Rivers States. You can buy very fresh local produce from this market, most of which come direct from the farms. You'll find cash crops, vegetables, tropical fruits of all kinds, live stock, local food condiments, fresh and dried seafood, even clothing items etc... they all come organic and at affordable rates. The Ekeakpara Market hosts the annual 'Eke-ekpo Festival' (also known as 'Last Eke festival'). This festival holds at the last Eke market day of the year. At this festival, all the masquerades of the town, and ones from adjoining towns and villages congregate at the market square for a spectacular display. It's one of the major festivals and tourist attractions in Eastern Nigeria. Ekeakpara Market is strategically located in Umuakpara town, Osisioma LGA, Abia State, South-East Nigeria. It's an interesting place to visit!
