I was there to mark daughters birthday. Was told they were 130 kids but after calling down all the kids, I saw a lot less than 130 though was told the rest were sleeping. I had my observations and first impression though. We brought a two layered cake, snacks and drinks for the kids to celebrate with. We shared the drinks amongst the kids but the kids didn't have any in our presence. We were told by one of the staff not to share the cake amongs the kids as they will do it at their own time so I cut a tiny part of the cake and ate it in front of everyone and fed to my kids also then we left the rest for the orphanage kids and i personally begged the staff to make sure the kids enjoys the yummy cake we had brought with so much luv for them. Even the drinks we shared for them, they all held in their hands all through until they went back to their rooms and not even one was opened. The cake was not shared for them in our presence neither was the snacks. We went there to party with the kids but we left disappointed. Before we went there we had so much affection for this place and had planned how we wanna be part of it there after cos the name is so heart taking . we had to journey all the way from Apo to kubwa just cos the name captured our hearts and we had very high expectations but after our visit, our mindset changed. it was clear that most of the items donated to the kids, actually don't get to the kids and we over heard 2 of the bigger male kids murmuring how there was no need sharing what will be taken from them.
