International Solar Signal has created the world's most advanced solar powered traffic signal. "IntSolar" was founded by leading experts in the design and engineering of solar powered traffic beacons. Each member of the design team has at least ten years of experience representing more than ten thousand installations. In 2010 we developed a new standard for state-of-the-art solar powered traffic signals. After three years of engineering, we have designed a system that surpasses all others in theft resistance, functionality and reliability. Theft Resistance: The solar panels, batteries and circuitry are mounted on the mast arm pole, 8 meters high and hanging over the road. We use 5 Volt solar panels and 2 Volt batteries that are useless for other purposes. These features make theft nearly impossible and certainly unprofitable. Ease of Installation: Each signal communicates via spread spectrum radio signal. As well, each pole has its own solar panels and battery pack. These features mean that there is no need to disrupt traffic or dig up the road for the installation of underground wires. Energy Efficiency: All other systems have merely taken an AC powered unit and converted it for solar power. IntSolar is the only company to develop a signal from scratch. Our unit is up to 50% more energy efficient than any other so that we can use smaller solar panels and battery packs, but still have a brighter signal than any other.
